We have a new web site.  Please visit ps452.org!

It is our firm belief that everyone excels when they are engaged, accepted for who they are, nurtured, empowered to achieve, and involved.  That starts with you--the first teacher that your child has.  We will provide a creative and collegial environment of teachers and staff by including families in decisions that give them the tools to help their children excel academically and socially.

We are driven by these core beliefs that we will institute into our daily practice:
         * All children flourish given the chance to acknowledge their sense of wonder, explore their natural curiosities, and engage compassionately with the world around them.  Skills in literacy and math are acquired through project-based curricula via integrated units in science and social studies.
    * Class work and projects will incorporate the use of technology and critical thinking skills that will prepare them for success in our diverse global society.
         * Assessment-based instruction is the optimal way to guide children through the formative years of school.
        * Regardless of the knowledge and experience a child brings, we will make certain that each child is well-prepared intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.

One of the unique aspects of PS 452 is our partnership with National Dance Institute.  The mission of NDI is to help children develop discipline, a standard of excellence, and a belief in themselves that carries over into all other aspects of their lives.  All children of our school community have the opportunity to learn the discipline of dance and performance with NDI.  Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to learn movement, choreography, and the ability to collaborate in the creation of dynamic and engaging performances.
